In a special called meeting, the Regional Medical Center Board and the City of Anniston solve the major differences at issue between them. The R-M-C Board adopted the agreement on Saturday by a voice vote on telephone. There were no negative votes. City of Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart says the two parties have agreed on a compromise agreement which allows the city knowledge that the Regional Medical Center Board and its subsidiaries will abide by government ordinances.Vaughn adds that the R-M-C Board must confer with the City of Anniston with certain exceptions. The agreement avoids court and additional expenses. The litigation between R-M-C and the City of Anniston was about the ability of a governing body to appoint and replace the R-M-C Board.
