Law Enforcement Guidelines for Racial Profiling: U.S. Justice Department
The Justice Department will be expanding guidelines for racial profiling- But it won’t apply to screenings at airports, borders and in intelligence operations. According to a Justice official, the new guidelines will prohibit profiling based on religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity. The announcement comes as protestors have staged demonstration in cities across the country. Attorney General Eric Holder will outline the new federal profiling limits to state and local law enforcement officials during a conference call and will urge them to adopt them.
