Tattoo Database Helps Catch Criminals

Last week the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office captured a suspect in a robbery of a Huddle House in Alexandria with the help of witnesses and their descriptions of tattoos and identifying marks. Today, Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson talks to TV24 about the Tattoo Database Technology and how it is a tool to help more easily locate criminals. Amerson says the database narrows down the pool of criminals to a small group of people who have been in jail. Amerson says he believes they are the only local agency to be using the database. They have had the database since 2008.
