Most computer screens have a virtual "recycle bin" on them where deleted files and images can be trashed. Today in Munford, a real-life recycle bin was set up for old computer screens and other obsolete electronics. Instead of ending up in local landfills, these items will be taken to various companies where the materials inside of them can be recovered and re-used. Christy Claes of the Alabama Land Trust tells us why this recycling program is important. Claes says the Land Trust hopes to have more opportunities for people and companies to recycle their electronic items in the upcoming months.
