Developmental Grants

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Federal officials announced today that Alabama will be receiving 17 and a half million dollars in developmental grants to increase the number of children in pre-school programs. The money is designed to help Alabama and 17 other states with limited pre-school opportunities develop high-quality programs in a variety of settings from urban areas to rural communities. The Alabama School Readiness Alliance, a private group that advocates for more pre-school programs, last week asked the Alabama Legislature for an additional 13-point-2 million dollars next year for those programs.
