Buster Miles Funeral

The family and friends of Buster Miles gathered today at a memorial service in Heflin for the 90-year-old businessman. Miles, who died late Sunday night, was remembered as one of Heflin’s most prominent civic leaders and as a businessman who took a very personal interest in his customers. He opened his first car lot in Anniston in 1947 with his brother Frank, and bought the Chevrolet dealership in Heflin in 1952. He added a Ford dealership to his company in 2003, and both have been relocated to a site close to Interstate 20 in Heflin. Miles is survived by his wife, Alice Miles, four children and 13 grandchildren.
