The Gadsden Etowah Emergency Management Agency welcomes one of its own back to its agency with a new position as the acting Director. Deborah Gaither has only been on the job for 3 days, but she started her work with the E-M-A as a volunteer with the Talladega County E-M-A in 1996. She says she always wanted to do something in Public Service. She has also worked with FEMA out of Montgomery and worked disasters such as Katrina and Gustav. Gaither says she is excited to be back doing what she has always wanted to do. But she says there are challenges and she is ready for the undertaking. Gaither says she is ready to plan, prepare, and mitigate any upcoming circumstances and she wants to implement a new liason out of the E-M-A to work with municipalities.
