The motto of Calhoun County Schools is success for all. And, today, we, along with the school system recognize a teacher who has been motivating students to perform their personal best and attain measurable success. Calhoun County Schools honor one of their veteran teachers with the Employee of the Month Award. Kay Adams is a fifth and sixth grade Collaborative Teacher at Weaver Elementary School. She has been in the teaching profession for 32 years and has taught in Calhoun County Schools for 18 years. Adams says it’s important to recognize that every student has a talent and it is her job to find it. Weaver Elementary School Principal Summer Davis has worked with Adams for 3 years and says she is a dedicated teacher. Special Education Services Executive Director Charlene Hill went to college with Adams, has worked with her for over 30 years in two school systems, and says Adams goes beyond what she is called to do. Weaver Elementary School Assistant Principal Amber Ray has worked with Adams for the past two years and says it is a pleasure to work with her. Kay Adams adds that the most rewarding part of her job is the happiness of her students. She says she is humbled by the award and she doesn’t plan to retire any time soon.
