Mortgage Rates Hit a New Low: Freddie Mac

Friday, December 19, 2014

Now may be the time to ask Sana for a house for Christmas. Mortgage rates have hit a new low for 20-14. According to Freddie Mac, the average rate for a 30-year fixed rate loan now stands at 3.8-percent. That’s a rate not seen since May 20-13. The average 15-year fixed loan, which is popular among those looking to refinance, felt o 3.1-percent. That rate is about where the 15-year stood in October. Experts say plunging oil prices and fewer people applying for mortgages have helped drive rates down.
