Task Force on 21st Century Policing

President Barack Obama has appointed the leader of an Alabama nonprofit to the Task Force on 21st Century Policing. Bryan Stevenson will serve on the newly created task force focusing on community policing. He’s the Director of the Montgomery-based Equal Justice Initiative. The president announced the creation of the 11-person committee by executive order Thursday. It’s designed to strengthen trust between law enforcement and citizens.
