Fire Department’s New Stations & Training Tower: Oxford
The Oxford Fire Department begins its new year with completion on its Fire Station 6, Fire Station 3, and a four-story training tower. Chief Gary Sparks says Station 6 is almost completed and it will be a volunteer station housing 3 trucks and will double as a training facility. He adds that Station 3 in Bynum will be manned and will also have a police department office in it. Sparks says the training tower will help to expand their training, allowing more departments from other cities to come to Oxford for training. The stations will be fully opened at the end of this month. The Oxford Fire Department will start moving in at the end of this week.
