Etowah County authorities arrest a Gadsden woman for chemical endangerment of twins.
According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 26-year-old Courtney Starr Hyfield-Parker is charged with two counts of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony. Parker tested positive for opiates. One infant was stillborn, the other was transported to a Birmingham hospital. Bond is set at $30,000. Parker will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections and must give a negative drug test before being released from the Etowah County Detention Center. She also is restricted from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18.
