The Oxford Police Department begins a new program to encourage better communication between its community and law enforcement. Today, Starbucks Coffee hosted Coffee with a Cop. The meet and greet brings police and community members together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge says this is the first of many more to come. Jerry York has been an Oxford resident for 25 years and says he likes the idea. The police department will continue Coffee with a Cop for the next four to six months. To find out where they’re going to be next check the Oxford Police Department website or their Facebook page.
