Concert & Food Drive: Gadsden

Friday, January 23, 2015

In the aftermath of a busy holiday season, many organizations that provide food to the less fortunate find their food shelves in need of replenishment…so First United Methodist Church in Gadsden is giving you an opportunity to help. The Downtown Gadsden church is opening its doors this Sunday afternoon for a community concert and food drive. The concert will feature a variety of area musicians – along with a mass choir made up of singers from several local churches. Organizers are asking attendees to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Etowah Community Food Bank. The Salvation Army is providing a truck that McNair hopes to fill up during the event. The Community Concert and Food Drive will take place this Sunday afternoon beginning at 3pm in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church on 5th Street in Downtown Gadsden. Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to bring a food donation. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
