While searching a Glencoe woman during a routine booking at the Etowah Detention Center, a deputy is pricked with a needle found inside the waist band of a suspect's pants. The incident happened on January 16th. Leah Bragg is charged with one count of Third Degree Assault, one count of Third Degree Promoting Prison Contraband, and one count of Reckless Endangerment. All are misdemeanors. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says Bragg consistently told the booking deputy that she did not have anything in her clothing or attached to her that might harm the deputy. Bragg was booked into and later released from the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
