Internet In Alabama

Almost 35-percent of Alabama’s residents don’t have the high-speed service needed for today’s digital offerings. That’s according to a new report by the Federal Communications Commission saying that approximately 1.7 million people statewide lack fixed broadband connection. The federal government says more than one-third of Alabama residents lack the service. And, the situation is worse in rural Alabama where about 56-percent of state residents living outside cities lack broadband service.
