Members of the Steering Committee for the Alabama Agriculture & Forestry Strategic Plan presented a plan to grow Alabama’s agriculture industry. Governor Robert Bentley heard "The Strategic Plan to Grow Alabama’s Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, and Forest Products Industries 2015 to 2020," today. The report calls for a more cooperative relationship between business and government. If enacted, the plan would help to create as many as 58-thousand new jobs in Alabama and add 7- billion dollars to the state’s economy by 2020. According to the Agriculture and Industries Commissioner John McMillan, the steering committee and commodity groups represent the entire spectrum of Alabama’s agriculture and forestry industries.
