4H Counties Honored

Two East Alabama 4-H programs are being honored for their efforts to transform and revitalize the organization. Etowah and Cherokee counties are two of only six county 4-H programs around the state to earn the Centennial Youth Initiative Designation. The designation will allow the Alabama Extension Service and the Alabama 4-H Foundation to fund a full-time 4-H Agent dedicated to each county with the goal of growing 4-H programs in the counties. 4-H has been around for more than 100 years and, currently, more than 120,000 young people participate in 4-H here in Alabama.
