Auburn Shooter Turns Himself In
An arrest has been made in the death of an Auburn man wounded by a gunshot. Police say they have arrested 26-year-old Cornelius Reese. Auburn Police say he turned himself in. The Opelika-Auburn News reports that police say Reese knew the victim, a 39-year-old man named Deon Helms Dorsey. It also reports that there was an issue between the two men, and Reese confronted the victim then shot him. Police found Helms in the roadway on Spencer Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds Saturday night. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. Reese was taken to the Lee County Jail.
