EMA Cold Weather Advisory: Calhoun County

Thank you for watching TV24s Primetime News. I'm Vanessa Croft. When temperatures drop significantly below normal, staying warm and safe can be a challenge. The Calhoun County E-M-A reminds local residents to stay safe in this season's abnormally cold weather by knowing what to do before, during, and after a cold weather event. E-M-A Deputy Director Greg Militano says staying connected to information from the E-M-A is easier than ever.Militano says temperatures could be some of the coldest of the year for parts of the Northeast Alabama region. He adds that this weather is extremely dangerous and people in its path should prepare for the cold weather with a 72-hour safety kit. He says there is a tax free Severe Weather Awareness Month weekend coming up and items like batteries and flashlights will be tax free.
