Instrument Donation Needed: Gadsden

Friday, February 20, 2015

So many kids want to be a part of one local school’s band program that they are asking for your help to facilitate that growth. When Ali Sullivan took over the band program at Litchfield Middle School in Gadsden, there were only eight students in the band. Today, the Litchfield Marching Eagle Band is nearly 60 members strong with even more students would like to be part of the program. As the popularity of the band program has grown, it has revealed a pressing need – a need for more instruments. Numerous studies have shown that students who participate in a Fine Arts program in school tend to be better students in all aspects of their educational career and that participating in an extracurricular program like band tends to keep the students more engaged in school and less likely to get into trouble. If you have an old – but still playable – band instrument that is just taking up space in your closet, consider donating that instrument to the band at Litchfield Middle School. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a donation, contact Mr. Sullivan at the school by calling .256.492.6793
