Lunch & Learn with Laura Anderson: Anniston

A Birmingham Civil Rights Institute archivist gives an interesting presentation recounting the 1961 Mother's Day Freedom Rides. The Anniston Museum welcomed Laura Caldwell Anderson today for an interesting lunch hour presentation. The event included an in depth look and account into photographs that were taken during the bus burning incident that took place outside of Anniston in 1961. The Anniston Museum of Natural History and Berman Museum of World History will continue the celebration of Black History Month on Saturday, February 21st with the 35th Annual Anniston Museum's Black Heritage Festival. This year's theme is "A 35 Year Dream, an Ongoing Journey." The festival will take place from 10:00am until 3:00pm. And, Admission to both museums will be free.
