Charged with Chemical Endangerment

A Gadsden woman arrested on February 19 for driving while under the influence and testing positive for amphetamines and admitting to using the drug is charged with chemical endangerment of her unborn child. According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin Jessica Brown is six months pregnant and accused of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony. Her bond is set at ten-thousand dollars. As a condition of her bond, Brown will be released to the Aletheia House and upon release from Aletheia House, will be supervised by the Etowah County Community Corrections. The case is also being worked by the Etowah County Department of Human Resources.
