Sacred Heart Boys Win, Advance To 1A Title Game

Class 1A Boys Semifinals

Sacred Heart Catholic 74, A.L. Johnson 40

   Three Sacred Heart starters had double doubles as the Cardinals (25-8) rolled into the finals with a 74-40 win over A.L. Johnson in the second game of the AHSAA Class 1A boys state basketball tournament at the BJCC Monday.

   Freshman Diante Wood had 22 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomores D.J. Heath and Kevion Nolan had 14 and 17 points, respectively. Nolan also had 13 rebounds and Heath 10. Kavarri Ross also had 10 points for Sacred Heart, coached by Ralpheal Graves.

    A.L. Johnson (14-5) was led by Gregory Baker’s nine points and seven rebounds. Tywon Scott also had nine rebounds.

    Sacred Heart faces Sunshine in the 1A finals Thursday night at 6 p.m.
