Probe Moves In On Dwarf Planet: NASA

NASA’S Dawn Probe reaches the dwarf planet CERES’ (SERIES), today. CERES’ (SERIES) is the size of Texas and is the largest object between Mars and Jupiter in the asteroid belt. Dawn first spent 14 months orbiting the next-largest object in the asteroid belt, the proto planet Vesta. Scientists look at both objects as planetary building blocks. They hope the mission will shed light on how our solar system formed. Dawn’s mission is set to end in June.
