Joint Disaster Exercise: Pelham Range


A group of Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency officials, First Responders, law enforcement, and the Alabama National Guard respond to an Oxford Tornado exercise in a joint disaster scenario at Pelham Range, today. According to National Guard officials this is the future of incident management. . Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency Director Jonathan Gaddy says his agency’s role is to coordinate resources. Officials say to meet the training needs of all the responders; the scenario incorporated a rescue and hazmat component. Anniston Fire Department Training Officer Johnnie Phelps says the program’s extreme scenario helped to better train agencies in cross communication. The scenario involved more than 270 participants.
