Illegal Receipt of a Controlled Substance

A former substitute nurse at Munford Middle School and Munford High School was arrested for illegal receipt of a controlled substance. According to Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Force Commander Jason Murray, 38-year-old Brandi Butler of Lincoln was arrested last week on nine counts of receiving amphetamines, one count of possession of oxycodone, and one count of possession of hydrocodone. Murray says the receiving charges against Butler are related to her substitute position at Munford, and that the amphetamines involved were intended for legitimate uses by students. District Court Judge Jeb Fannin has set Butler's bond at $25,000 on each charge.
