Life in Prison Without Possibility of Parole
The capital murder trial of Vinnie Leroy Keaton has come to an end in Cherokee County. He has been sentenced to Life in Prison without the possibility of parole. The jury took 25 minutes of deliberation this morning to return the verdict. According to Cherokee County District Attorney Mike O’Dell Keaton was formally charged with the murder of Melissa Leeann Hudgins in December 2012 and indicted by a Cherokee County Grand Jury, in April of 2013; he pled guilty to the capital murder charge on February 25th of this year. O’Dell said that he is grateful to the jury for the verdict and that it provides the family of the victim with closure and now they can begin the long journey of healing.
