Could that can of diet soda be making you fat? Well…According to a new study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics society drinking more diet soda can lead to greater belly fat in adults age 65 and older. The study was done to raise concerns about the safety of chronic diet soda consumption. Researchers say that while many adults try to reduce their sugar habit, obesity has seen dramatic growth alongside the average diet soda intake. They recommend that older people try to curb their consumption of artificially sweetened drinks.
