Juliette P. Doster Award: Anniston

The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama recognizes their 2014 Juliette P. Doster Award for Outstanding Volunteerism in Community Health, today at First Presbyterian Church of Anniston. Mary L. Olson of Pell City was the outstanding volunteer in community health Doster Award recipient. Olson was selected for her commitment to caring for those in hospice care and her work with Relay for Life. She says it is the biggest honor she has ever received and she can’t thank the foundation enough. Past Doster Award recipient George Areno who founded Calhoun County Head Injury says volunteers work as they do because they love what they do. He says it is not for the accolades. Olson received a $1,000 grant to Lakeside Hospice from the Juliette P. Doster Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. Her name was also added to an historical plaque listing all past award winners on display in the Foundation office.
