Friday, March 20, 2015

According to a statement by American Honda regarding the expansion of its National Safety Improvement Campaign there will be additional recalls surrounding Takata's faulty airbag inflators. The major issue was getting all of the affected models promptly repaired.

However, Honda is voluntarily expanding its safety recall to include another 100,000-plus vehicles. The automaker is adding more than 88,000 examples of the 2008 Pilot, more than 10,000 units of the 2004 Civic and more than 5,000 vehicles of the 2001 Accord to replace the driver's side front inflator. Honda says it is announcing this action today to encourage owners to take their vehicles to an authorized Honda or Acura dealer for repair.
