Arrive Alive Tour: Jacksonville

A program designed to heighten awareness to the dangers and consequences of drunk driving visits the Jacksonville State University campus, today. UNITE is the number one Health and Wellness Organization in the Nation and they visit campuses on all levels – from Elementary all the way to Colleges and BEYOND with the Arrive Alive Tour. Today, their mission was to better impact J-S-U students with positive messages that would last a lifetime, using their vehicle simulator. Event Specialist Blake Lopez said the texting and drunk driving simulator shows how quickly something can go wrong. Students said the simulator’s enhancements such as the glasses which provided tunnel vision and the vehicle’s delayed reaction time made it clear that impaired driving makes ordinary driving circumstances more dangerous. Today’s texting and drunk driving simulator event was part of an East Coast Tour. Florida will be the tour’s next stop.
