Total Solar Eclipse Friday

Friday will be a big day for skywatchers. There will be a total solar eclipse, viewable across Africa, Northern Asia, and most of Europe. But that’s not the only major astronomical event of the day. The vernal equinox will occur Friday at 5:45 PM Eastern Time…Marking the official beginning of Spring. There will also be a supermoon Friday…That happens when the moon’s orbit brings it closest to Earth. But, the moon is in the new phase so it won’t be visible. Still, it will be an exciting day for astronomy lovers. The eclipse won’t be viewable in North America, unfortunately. It can only be viewed from the North Atlantic—South of Iceland, North of the U-K.
