A three-vehicle crash claims the life of an Anniston man and injures another. 26-year-old Mario Scales of Anniston was killed when he lost control of the 2001 Ford Taurus he was driving and collided with a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by 61-year-old Ronald Winsett also of Anniston, on Friday. Scales, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Winsett was transported to University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment of his injuries. A third driver, 54-year-old Bryon McCormack of Oxford, was not injured. The crash occurred at 9:45 p.m. on Choccolocco Road four miles east of Anniston. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
