Police Officer Makes Beach Save: Heflin

A Heflin police officer was on vacation and visiting Pensacola Beach when he helped a mother and her girls who were in trouble on the beach.Patrol Officer Scott Winslett swam out through rough waters to bring a mother and daughter safely to shore. Winslett says he and his family had been on the beach for about 5 to 6 minutes when he heard a woman screaming that her sister was drowning. He then dialed 9-1-1 and went to help. Winslett said he made two trips in and out. When he returned to Heflin his wife posted his story on social media and it went viral.
