Online Breast Milk in Question: Pediatrics

A new study is putting a critical eye on human breast milk sold online. The nationwide Children’s Hospital study shows that 10-percent of breast milk purchased over the internet was topped off with cow’s milk. Such a mixture can be harmful to babies with dairy allergies or other medical conditions. Researchers say the findings suggest that some sellers intentionally add cow’s milk or infant formula to the breast milk. The study was published in the journal "Pediatrics."
