Governor Robert Bentley awards a job skills grant to workers at a Calhoun County Company. The more than $26,000 grant is helping to train 30 employees at Laser Fabrication and Machine Co. They are learning new techniques to improve efficiency. The company provides engineering, prototyping, fabrication and manufacturing services for a range of industries. Company officials say the training will help it attain updated certification from the International Organization for Standardization, a requirement for many business contracts. The Alabama Technology Network is providing the training over a 12-month period. Laser Fabrication and Machine is contributing almost $250,000 toward the training cost.
