Piedmont Boys, Anniston Girls Claim County Track Titles


Hundred of athletes and fans made their way to JSU's track facility for the annual Calhoun County Track Meet. As always it was an action packed day with more than ten events on the docket. The meet started at 9:00am with the final event lasted for 4:20. The title of "fastest man in the county" goes to Piedmont's C.J. Savage. The senior won both the 100m and 200m dash races. Savage also won the long jump event. Piedmont's boys went 1-2-3 in the pole vault led by Wil Mitchell who cleared 11 feet. Meanwhile the Anniston girls got redemption after falling short last year. The Lady Bulldogs edged out the Oxford Lady Yellow Jackets to claim the girls championship. Team results are as follows:

1. Piedmont- 182.5

2. Anniston- 123.0

Girls

1. Anniston- 148.5

2. Oxofrd- 138.0
