JSU Holds Interviews for Presidency

Jacksonville State University is conducting on-campus interviews with three presidential candidates.  The interviews will take place today, April 13 and April 14. These visits will give candidates the opportunity to tour the campus and meet with faculty, staff, students, trustees and the search committee. Today’s presidential candidate is Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Houston – Clear Lake, Dr. Carl. A. Stockton.  He says there is a lot of great people here and it would be nice to be situated in the Southeast.  He says he has a plan to see J-S-U grow and develop more. Dr. Stockton has spent 31 years in higher education and has taught in Mobile.  The next presidential candidate to be interviewed will be Dr. John Beehler who is the Dean of Business at Robert Morris University in Pittsburg, followed by Dr, Randall W. Hanna who is the former Chancellor of The Florida College System.  An open forum will be held at 10:30 a.m. each day in the Houston Cole Library, room 1103.
