Walgreens Prepares to Close Stores

Walgreens plans to close 200 locations in the United States. The company has not revealed a time frame for these closures. The plans are still being finalized.

Walgreens has more than eight thousand stores spread across the country. The retailer also recently purchased a chain of European drugstores for $5.3 billion and another chain for $1.1 billion. The company has also changed its name to Walgreens Boots Alliance. Walgreens says it’s trying to reduce expenses over the next 3 years.
