Sylacauga Police Investigate Multiple Homicides
Residents in the city of Sylacauga are asked to rally together to stop crime after two homicides in just two weeks on the south side of town. Sylacauga police Chief Chris Carden held a public meeting tonight for those who live on or near South Main Avenue. He told them they don’t have to live in fear and can help police solve these recent violent crimes. The most recent murder happened Saturday night. According to investigators, two men forced their way into a home at 308 South Church Avenue. They shot and killed 18-year-old-Keiria Reynolds and injured another person inside the home. On April 5, Sylacauga police officers were called to a home at 411 South Main Avenue where they found 39-year-old Gerry Wallace suffering from gunshot wounds. He died the next morning at a Birmingham hospital. Investigators are still piecing together leads in both cases.
