Beech Nut Baby Food Recalled After Glass Found in Products


The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries Consumer Food Safety Inspectors and Ag Compliance Inspectors are conducting recall effectiveness checks on Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken baby food because there has been a single report from a consumer who found a small piece of glass in the product. Yesterday the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that Beech-Nut Nutrition had recalled approximately 1,920 pounds of baby food products that may be contaminated with small pieces of glass. The baby food product was produced on December 12, 2014. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the Beech-Nut Consumer Hotline at (866) 674-4446.
