Whirlwind of Color 5K

Friday, April 17, 2015

This year, the Calhoun County Chamber has chosen to celebrate education in a unique way on Saturday. They say the future is BRIGHT, and they are choosing to celebrate with a non-normal 5K starting at the Jacksonville Community Center. The 5K is a fun-filled, colorful, paint splattering celebration for runners and walkers, both young and old.  All participants will start the race in white, and as they make their way along the route, volunteers will throw “color.” Chamber Public Relations Coordinator Emily Duncan says, at the finish, all runners and participants will be a multicolored canvas.  Kids 5 and under are free.  Race day registration is $30.00 and if you register on Friday it is just $25.00.  All proceeds will benefit the JSU and GSCC Foundations for regional scholarship opportunities. Race participation capacity has been set at 500 participants and parking will be available at the Community Center.
