Gadsden Citizens to Participate in Campaign Cleanup

A group of Gadsden citizens is getting serious about the cleanliness of their neighborhood, so they’re holding their second annual community clean-up day on Saturday. Campaign Cleanup 2015 will focus on Gadsden’s downtown residential neighborhoods. Organizer Glenda Jackson says that the City of Gadsden has agreed to donate cleanup supplies and volunteers will walk the streets cleaning their neighborhood as they go. Jackson says her community has already made great strides in making the neighborhood a nice place to live – and now it’s time to step it up even more. Volunteers who would like to help with the cleanup effort are asked to meet at the Gadsden Public Library Main Branch at 9:00Saturday morning. Once the work is completed everyone is invited to a neighborhood cookout at Cherry Street Park from 12:30 until 2:30.
