Shot Fired at Red Cross Building in Anniston

Red Cross volunteers in Anniston arrive at their office this morning to find a troubling situation when they noticed that someone had recently fired a shot into their building on West 10th Street. Tanner says that the police department responded with the Crime Scene Investigation unit which spent time taking pictures and collecting evidence. He says that the round that penetrated the window is believed to be from a .45 caliber handgun and that the incident could have happened anytime in the past two weeks, but may not have been noticed because the meeting room is not used regularly. Tanner says that no one was in the building when the shot was fired and that no one was injured.
