Wednesday Night Shooting Finds Suspects Blaming Victim


Officers responding to a call about shots fired in Gadsden Wednesday night found one man with a gunshot wound and the suspect claiming the victim fired first. The incident happened on Springdale-Carolyn Lane. According to Gadsden police sergeant Paul Cody, 24-year-old Ferlandous Dobbins from Gadsden was arrested and a 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. Dobbins told police the victim pulled a gun during a fight with another man at the home. Dobbins said he and the other man ran and the victim fired shots at them first, so they returned fire.
