A local school system votes on a proposal to close two schools in its district. At the meeting, the Anniston Board of Education voted 3 to 2 for school consolidation. According to reports, the U-S Department of Justice recently approved the board's plan to close the two schools, thereby allowing board members to put the proposal to a vote. The board has been considering closure of the two schools for the last two years.
