Travel for Memorial Day to be Busiest in Years

Saturday, May 23, 2015

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the launch of the summer travel season.  And this year, Memorial Day travel is expected to be quite busy. Triple-A Travel projects more than 37 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home this holiday weekend.  That’s nearly five percent more than last year…  And the highest travel volume for the holiday in a decade.  Meantime, most drivers should expect to pay the lowest Memorial Day gas prices in at least 5 years.  Triple-A says the national average for a gallon of gas is two dollars and 66 cents.  That’s a dollar less than last year.
