Takata Airbag Recall Could Take Some Time
It could take as long as five years to fix all cars affected in the largest auto recall in U-S history. About 34 million vehicles in the U-S, and 52 million worldwide, are included in the recall of TAKATA airbags. The airbags could explode and send shrapnel into the vehicles. At least six deaths have been tied to the defect. So why so long for the fix? For one, it will take a long time to produce new airbags. Finding all the affected vehicles could prove challenging. And it will be hard for dealers to repair so many cars.
