T-S-A screeners failed in undercover tests designed to challenge T-S-A officer’s ability to identify explosives or weapons. According to government officials, so called “Red Teams” with the department of Homeland Security posed as passengers trying to pass through security with the explosives or weapons.  The official confirmed T-S-A officers failed 67 out of 70 tests to get the items through.  According to a separate government official, the D-H-S Inspector General report was not set to be issued until later this summer and is still being written.  A D-H-S spokesperson says, “Aviation security involves a number of measures, both seen and unseen, and we are constantly testing, measuring and enhancing our capabilities and techniques as the threat evolves.”
